- Remove for Sleep: Never let a baby wear a headband while napping or sleeping. A sleeping baby can shift, causing the band to slide over their nose or mouth and lead to suffocation.
- Remove for Travel: Take headbands off in car seats or prams where you cannot easily see the baby's face at all times.
- Check the Fit: Use the two-finger rule: you should be able to slide two fingers comfortably between the band and the baby's head.
- Watch for Red Marks: If a headband leaves any indentations or red marks, it is too tight and should be removed immediately to prevent restricted blood flow or discomfort.
- Avoid Small Parts: Select simple designs without loose beads, sequins, or small buttons that could detach and become choking hazards
