Hunters Hill (2110) is a beautiful harbour suburb located around 9 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD. Set on a small peninsula between the Lane Cove River and the Parramatta River, the area is known for its leafy streets, historic homes and relaxed village atmosphere.
First settled by Europeans in 1835, Hunters Hill has a rich heritage and many historic landmarks including All Saints Anglican Church, the town hall, post office and public school. The suburb also has a strong French connection and was once known as “The French Village,” maintaining a friendship with the Parisian suburb of Le Vésinet.
Outdoor life is part of everyday living here, with beautiful waterfront reserves such as Banjo Paterson Park, Clarkes Point Reserve and Woolwich Dock and Parklands providing perfect places for walks, picnics and family gatherings. The historic Hunters Hill Tennis Club, established in the 1860s, is also one of Australia’s oldest sporting clubs.
Hunters Hill is well known for its local dining and community events. Celebrations are often enjoyed at La Chouette French Restaurant, Cucinetta Sydney and the waterfront Woolwich Pier Hotel.
